One of the things I recently learned about Ikigai — from my reading of Ken Mogi’s (@qualiaken) Awakening Your Ikigai — is that it doesn’t necessarily have to be a big thing (ie your purpose in life). Ikigai can and must! be found in the smallest of things: from the sound of silence to the smell in the air after it rains (petrichor, one of my favorites). I wonder if it becomes easier to find ikigai in the ‘small’ things once you know your bigger ikigai or life purpose. Or if tracing the ikigai you find in small things will lead you to the big WHY of your life. Probably both.
